Self-Directed Brokerage Accounts

EXPANDED INVESTMENT OPTIONS

Plan participants have the option of creating a Self-Directed Brokerage Account (SBDA). Participants can gain access to additional investment choices, beyond their retirement plan’s pre-selected investment lineup. SDBAs allow participants to take more control by accessing additional investment strategies to design a portfolio of securities that best suits their investment objectives.

Advisor Managed Account (AMA)

Participants have the option of managing the SDBA themselves or authorizing a third-party financial professional to assist in managing their account.  Participants also have the option to retain private client wealth management services of FPLCM. SDBA Custodians

Participants can establish a Self-Directed Brokerage Account at Schwab through their PCRA platform.  Plan can access additional custodians if the plan was “unbundled”.  Currently, the plans is “bundled”, and the only custodian option is Schwab PCRA.

Enhanced SDBA (Requires Unbundling)

All features of Standard SDBA plus the ability to invest in Private Funds.  Private Funds offered will be a short list of funds that have been carefully selected to be made available to SDBAs.  Participants will be limited to 4 private funds and 4 private fund trades per year.  Additional trades will be subject to additional fees.

$1,000 annual fee + a one-time setup fee of $500.

Private Wealth SDBA

This is essentially the same as FPLCM’s managed account services.  If you choose this option, it allows you to add other types of accounts (Traditional IRAs, Roth IRAs, Taxable Accounts, etc.) to our platform to be managed.

Discounted annual fee is 0.50% (normally 0.70%) of assets under management with a maximum annual fee.  Maximum annual fee is based on the level of service selected.

Standard SDBA

This is the basic self-managed SDBA where participants can invest in the full universe of mutual funds, ETFs, stocks, and bonds available at the SDBA custodian – Schwab PCRA.

$150 annual fee + a one-time setup fee of $250.
